Aitken & Partners are designers of electronic equipment and systems. Most of our designs have been for other companies or consultants. They include the Westrail Advanced Train Communications System, AM radio transmitters for Aitken & Hill, antenna coupling units for various locations, vital communications equipment, AM Loop Antennas, multi-channel tuners for broadcast monitoring facilities and some very unsophisticated metal work to facilitate equipment installation.
OSD1250 Optical Fibre Modem Interface for MicroLok™If you wish to connect an Optical Systems Design OSD1250 optical fibre modem to an RS422 port on an Ansaldo-STS Microlok™, you will need to fit terminating resistors in the Microlok backplane connector and make a complicated wiring arrangement to match the OSD1250 connector. Aitken & Partners have designed and supply an interface unit to overcome that difficulty. The interface incorporates screw terminals for normal signalling wiring applications and has internal biasing for the RS422 ports.

AM Receiving Loop AntennaIn the course of our work on AM radio reception, Aitken & Partners found the need for a high performance AM radio receiving antenna that was suitable for use with standard MATV wiring and systems. The Aitken PowerLoop antenna was designed and is supplied by Aitken & Partners to meet the requirements of this niche market. These antennas have been very successful and are installed in all states of Australia.

3RU Rack Mounting FrameThe standard 19" rack frame is not suitable for mounting DIN rail or G rail equipment. To solve this Aitken & Partners have designed a simple frame that is fitted with DIN rail (or G rail). The frame is supplied in 3RU, 4RU, 6RU and 12RU heights with several depths.
